The Greenbrier Bunker, also known as Project Greek Island, was a secret United States government continuity facility located at the Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Built during the Cold War era, the bunker was designed to house the United States Congress in the event of a nuclear attack. Construction began in 1958 and the facility remained operational until 1992, when its existence was publicly revealed by The Washington Post.
