The Greenbrier Bunker, also known as Project Greek Island, was a secret United States government continuity facility located beneath the Greenbrier resort in West Virginia. Constructed during the Cold War era, this underground bunker was designed to house and protect members of Congress in the event of a nuclear attack. The facility remained classified until its exposure by The Washington Post in 1992, after which it was decommissioned and later opened for public tours.
