Savoy Royal Bunker at Villa Ada

The Savoy Royal Bunker, located within Villa Ada park in Rome, Italy, is a World War II-era air-raid shelter constructed between November 1940 and June 1943. This underground facility was exclusively designed to protect Italy's former royal family, the House of Savoy, from potential bombing raids during the war. The bunker spans over 200 square meters and features a circular layout with seven distinct rooms, including two main chambers, two bathrooms, an antechamber, and two service areas. After more than five years of closure, this historic structure has recently reopened to the public for guided tours, offering visitors a unique glimpse into Italy's wartime history and royal heritage.
