Lorient Submarine Base Bunker

This military bunker is part of the former Lorient Submarine Base, a massive naval facility constructed by the German Kriegsmarine during World War II. Built starting in 1941 and expanded until 1943, the base was one of five major U-boat bunker sites in France and served as a critical component of the Atlantic Wall defenses. The concrete structures were designed to withstand Allied bombing and protect German submarines during the Battle of the Atlantic.
