La Coupole is a massive Second World War bunker complex located in the Pas-de-Calais department of northern France, approximately 5 kilometres from Saint-Omer. Originally codenamed Bauvorhaben 21 or Schotterwerk Nordwest by Nazi German forces, this concrete dome was intended as a launch facility for V2 rockets targeting London. The site now serves as an extraordinary memorial centre and museum, preserving the dark history of World War II while featuring modern attractions including a 3D cinema experience.
