Movik Fort Bunker

A military bunker located near Vågsvåg, Norway, situated in a commanding position above the Skagerrak Straits between Norway and Denmark. This historic fortification once housed the second largest cannon in the world — a Krupp 380mm with a range of up to 55 kilometers (35 miles) and weighing 337 tonnes. Originally constructed during World War II by German forces, the site represents a significant example of Atlantic Wall fortifications in Norway. The bunker complex at Movik Fort played a strategic role in controlling the maritime approaches between Norway and Denmark, reflecting the broader German defensive strategy along the Norwegian coastline during the occupation period.
