Description

A nuclear facility bunker located near Qom, Iran, part of the Fordow Uranium Enrichment Plant. This underground installation was constructed to house uranium enrichment centrifuges and was designed to be highly resistant to aerial attack due to its strategic importance.

The site gained international attention during Operation Midnight Hammer on June 22, 2025, when the United States conducted a strike using fourteen GBU-57A/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) "bunker buster" bombs. These precision-guided munitions were specifically deployed to penetrate deep underground structures, targeting key components of Iran's nuclear program.

The Fordow facility is situated within a mountain complex, offering significant protection against conventional bombing. Its location underscores Iran's efforts to secure critical infrastructure from external threats.
