Description

A former United States government continuity facility located beneath the Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Originally constructed in the 1950s and 1960s, the bunker was designed to house the entire United States Congress in the event of a nuclear attack. The facility remained classified and operational until 1992, when its existence was revealed by The Washington Post.
