Description

A number of temporary United States military bases are located in Iraq, most being a type of forward operating base (FOB). The US Department of Defense maintains these bases as part of ongoing military operations in the country. As of 2007, there were several major US military bases in Iraq with stationed soldiers. In January 2024, the US and Iraq are set to begin negotiations to end the US military presence in Iraq.
