Movik Fort is a historic German coastal artillery fortification located in southern Norway, positioned above the Skagerrak Strait. Constructed during the Second World War by German forces, it occupied a strategically commanding position for controlling maritime traffic between Norway and Denmark.
The fort's primary armament was a Krupp 380mm naval gun, which was, at the time, the second-largest cannon in the world. This massive weapon had a range of up to 55 kilometers (35 miles) and the gun and its emplacement weighed approximately 337 tonnes.
Following its wartime service, the site has been subject to preservation and restoration efforts, though it has also faced periods of closure for safety or maintenance, as noted in contemporary reports.
