Bunker near Shëngjin

A concrete military bunker located near Shëngjin, Albania, part of the extensive network of defensive fortifications built during the Hoxhaist era. Albania's 'bunkerization' program, implemented from the 1960s to the 1980s under Enver Hoxha's leadership, resulted in the construction of approximately 750,000 bunkers across the country. These structures were designed to defend against potential foreign invasion during the Cold War period, when Albania maintained a policy of extreme isolation and military preparedness.
