SK UBB Keroman II is part of the massive Lorient submarine base complex in Brittany, France. Built by the German Kriegsmarine during World War II as part of the Atlantic Wall fortifications, this reinforced concrete structure was designed to protect U-boats from Allied air and sea attacks. The Keroman complex, including Keroman II, represents one of the most significant military engineering projects of the war in occupied France, with its thick walls and roof designed to withstand heavy bombing.
