A military bunker located near Līgatne, Latvia. The Līgatne Bunker was constructed 9 meters beneath the ground as a secret Soviet facility intended to serve as a shelter for Latvia's Communist elite in case of a hypothetical nuclear war. The bunker remained highly classified for decades, with its existence unknown even to employees and clients of the adjacent rehabilitation center for 30 years. Today, the bunker displays authentic exhibits that have survived from Soviet times, offering visitors insight into the Cold War era and the Soviet military infrastructure in Latvia.
