Description

A former United States government continuity facility located at the Greenbrier resort in West Virginia. Originally constructed in the 1950s as part of Project Greek Island, the bunker was designed to house the United States Congress in the event of a nuclear attack. The facility remained a closely guarded secret until its exposure by The Washington Post in 1992, after which it was decommissioned and later opened for public tours.
